In the trailer, when the family opens the box to reveal AIA for the first time, it says, “Hello, world.” This is a nod to the first program most people write when learning to code or starting out with a new programming language. It’s one of the most basic programs a human can write, and serves not only as a first step for beginners, but also as confirmation that the development environment is set up correctly. In the kitchen, Maud visibly disconnects from AIA, but seconds later, when AIA orders her to turn on the lights, AIA is somehow rewired and obeys… There’s a brief scene during the end credits.

Honestly, the whole story seems like the most plausible way an AI would take over humanity. The twists were, once again…either impressive or…not…but the actors did a good job and it left me wondering, “what if”?
