As her life falls apart, soft-spoken actress Laura Franco finds her voice again when she meets the horrifying yet strangely charming monster living in her closet. A romantic-comedy-horror film about falling in love and inner rage. Filmed at The Ritz and mostly in New Jersey.

I think it would be very, well, scary.. Cited in Amanda the Jedi Show: THE BEST and Weirdest Movies You (Mostly) Haven’t Seen Yet | Love Lies Bleeding (2024). When Laura fights for her life against cancer, even though Jacob can’t stand by her side, she returns to the world all alone.

Jacob has moved on from their dream of doing Broadway together, leaving Laura oblivious to all of her input and support. Laura’s childhood monster struggles to cope with betrayal and isolation, and returns in a moment of need. This dark, twisted romantic comedy is reminiscent of the classic fictional buddy movie Drop Dead Fred.
The story is simple but has twists and turns to keep the audience interested
Comedy may not be funny for everyone, but those who like dark humor will like it. The film starts slowly and builds slowly, making the hour and 38 minute running time feel longer than it is. This is an entertaining and unique watch, especially for the scary season, but it needs to be better to be worth the price of the ticket.
